The viewing platform „Top of Tyrol“ is literally one of the greatest highlights of Stubai valley. Enjoy the views from the stylish gondola of the modern 3S ice ridge lift and the Schaufeljoch lift, which take you up to an altitude of 3,210 metres.
Once you've reached the top, it's only a five-minute walk to the platform. There, a 360-degree panorama with 109 three-thousand-metre peaks opens up to you. You can see the Stubai Alps, the Dolomites and the Ortler massif at the same time - a rarity!
The 20-tonne platform itself is an architectural feature, rising nine metres above the cliff edge and giving you the feeling of floating above the abyss. This spectacular construction prompted GEO magazine to rank "Top of Tyrol" among the world's ten most beautiful viewing platforms.
ice grotto
Anyone spending a holiday on the Stubai Glacier has the rare opportunity to explore an ice cave hidden deep in the glacier ice. The ice grotto at almost 3,000 metres above sea level near the Eisgrat mountain station provides fantastic insights into the world of snow and ice. Here you can learn interesting facts about glacier moraines, glacier polish, glacier milk, ice layers, glacier protection and much more.
The glacier phenomena become understandable on the 200-metre-long tour through the grotto, without losing any of their magic. What an exciting experience to walk together with your family 30 metres below the ski slope! The photo point not to be missed awaits in the form of an ice throne.
In winter you can reach the ice grotto on foot via a signposted winter hiking trail from the Eisgrat mountain station. In summer, a ten-minute walk takes you from the Eisgrat mountain station directly down a path to the ice grotto - note: not suitable for prams!
